Hand-built stoneware nerikomi plates.  You are purchasing a set of four plates in your chosen size.

These pieces are each their own work of art.  The plates clearly have a common pattern, however each plate is as unique as a fingerprint, and cannot be replicated.  The coloured patterning comes from repeated layering of different clays to form this checked appearance.

These unique vessels have been hand formed, laminated, compressed and dried, then hand finished, fired in a kiln, glazed, and fired for a second time. Due to the nature of all handmade ceramics, each piece is distinctively its own, and there will be slight variations in shape and finish and there may be slight imperfections.

Hand made using artisanal techniques, this stoneware clay as well as the glossy glazed surface are both artwork on their own, or stunning vessels to serve your favourite dishes.

Please note the variance in appearance of the plates across the body of these pieces.  This is purposeful and designed to emphasise that each plate is entirely hand-formed.   There are some small cracks in the internal glaze surface - this is not a fault - but merely a sign of different shrinkage rates of the clay body underneath the glazed surface.  These features enhance the attractiveness of the piece and it remains food safe.

Stamped with the Evoke logo on the base.
