Deemed a second due to the small crack in the lid of the piece (see photos)
This vessel has been wheel thrown, trimmed, hand finished, fired in a kiln, glazed, and fired for a second time. Due to the nature of all handmade ceramics, each piece is distinctively its own, and there will be slight variations in shape and finish.
This cup has a unique, highly-textured exterior surface, created by the granular-particles within the clay becoming more pronounced as it is fired to almost 1300 degrees. The internal, as well as the upper half of the external surface are glazed in a beautiful glossy glaze, which creates a distinctive mottled appearance as it melts over the textured clay.
