A single hand-built stoneware nerikomi serving platter or plate.
The artist has stained this clay deep blue, and repeatedly layered it with unstained clay in a meticulous way to create these completely unique and unrepeatable patterns across the entire surface of the vessels.
These unique forms have been hand-formed, laminated, compressed, hand finished, fired in a kiln, glazed, and fired for a second time. Due to the nature of all handmade ceramics, each piece is distinctively its own, and there will be slight variations in shape and finish and there may be slight imperfections.
Hand made using artisanal techniques, this stoneware clay as well as the glossy glazed surface is both artwork on its own, or stunning vessel to serve your favourite dish.
Please notice the variance in appearance of the nerikomi pattern across the body of these vessels. Each is attractive for it’s own unique characteristics.
