Hand-thrown stoneware serving plate.  This piece has a one off hue, due to the precious elements and compounds deposited from the glaze. This unique vessel has been wheel thrown, trimmed, hand finished, fired in a kiln, glazed, and fired for a second time. Due to the nature of all handmade ceramics, each piece is distinctively its own, and there will be slight variations in shape and finish and there may be slight imperfections.  This piece has a overlapping of three different glazes across the body of the vessel, highlighting the dynamic interaction of these glazes, and creating a rare effect.

Hand made using artisanal techniques, this stoneware clay as well as the glossy glazed surface is both artwork on it's own, or stunning vessel to serve your favourite dish.

Please notice the variance in appearance of the glaze across the body of this vessel.   There are cracks in the internal glaze surface - this is not a fault - but merely a sign of different shrinkage rates of the layered glazes over the clay body underneath.  Where the three glazes overlap, the surface is slightly more raised and textural. These features enhance the attractiveness of the piece and it remains food safe.
